Hey Team – Here’s the latest addition to our donation opportunities! Ultrafit is looking for volunteers to help with the NEWEST event to hit Columbus – Run Like A Girl – on October 4th, 2014. As the date approaches, we will begin dividing you out into w1383240_10151732798663196_1117178112_nater stations, road marshals, start/finish line help and more.

If you prefer to participate instead of volunteering – check out the race at:http://runlikeagirlcolumbus.com/

Move over, boys—cause
this one’s for the girls!

Run along the Scioto River waterfront in downtown Columbus, Ohio and pick your choice of three distances. Both runners and walkers are welcome to enjoy a morning of fun, exercise, meeting new people and more. Training for a fall marathon? This event is the ideal “tune-up” for anyone competing in the Columbus Marathon, Chicago Marathon, New York Marathon and others. Don’t forget the kids!

1013512_10151540602408196_513737654_nWe have another volunteer opportunity: Tri Tech Multisport Triathlon on August 24th, 2014! The 18 volunteers will be stationed at intersections along the course, and ensure cars do not enter the course in front of the athletes on the bike course. It’s an easy gig, and will likely take around 2 hours, since it’s an olympic distance triathlon, and you will receive $17/hour towards your fundraising goal. Open to bringing friends/family to help increase your donation. Once the final biker passes your station, you’re free to go. It’s a GREAT area for a swim, bike or run afterwards 🙂

SOLD OUT We are in need of 16 volunteers for the August 16th, 2014 roadblock in Reynoldsburg

5507_10200940905878083_1907311116_n! What’s a roadblock? It’s where you stand on a designated corner, and solicit funds from drivers while they’re stopped at the intersection. If you’ve ever seen Charity Newsies or Firefighters with the boots – you’ve seen a roadblock! You’ll have roughly 2 people per corner of the intersection – which should provide for some entertainment between donors. The more engaging you are, the more funds you’ll make.

10153640_10153914004495562_555141016_nThere will be two locations, so we will need a total of 8 volunteers at one intersection, and 8 at the other intersection. All of the money will be combined, counted up and divided up amongst all 16 of the teammates that helped out. We did one at this exact location in May 2013 – and each teammate walked away with $282 in donations! We did another one in July 2013 and each teammate walked away with $220 in donations. It truly varies – but ultimately you can make $20-50/hour in donations!

*Teammates ONLY at this time! You must be registered for a CURRENT Fall event, and all funds will only be deposited into YOUR account. If we do not fill the spots by August 6, 2014, we will open it up to current season teammates to bring ONE friend.

We have been asked by an alumni (Naomi Tucker) to help at her gyms upcoming Crossfit games competition. As a bonus to helping at this event, the gym is offering a one month free trial at their gym, to help familiarize you with the sport. There goal is to design a class catered to the needs of TNT participants – so stay tuned for a weekly class date.

*I ask that you please register through both THEIR link, and OUR link. That way we know who’s all volunteering, and we can ensure that we receive the correct funds for your volunteer hours.
